My recent visit to this charming city was not only a nostalgic trip down memory lane but also a chance to reconnect with the city. And what better place to relive those memories than Hyatt Centric Cambridge at Eddington, a hotel that truly feels like a second home. 

So, join me on this adventure where we explore my beloved Cambridge, Hyatt Centric Eddington, delicious coffee at Brew Eddington, savour reimagined classics at Dutch, go punting, and discover the city's rich history and stunning colleges. 

Remembering the good old days, we checked into Hyatt Centric Cambridge at Eddington (37 Eddington Avenue, Cambridge, CB3 1SE, United Kingdom). This place feels like a second home with its warm hospitality and luxurious amenities. 

First stop, Brew Eddington! Not your average coffee shop, they brew magic in every cup.  Sip on premium-quality, expertly crafted coffee with a variety of brewing methods that reveal unique flavours. Pair your coffee with artisan pastries, cakes, and locally sourced treats. It's a coffee lover's dream come true! 

Need to catch up on work during your stay? Hyatt Centric Cambridge offers a comfy co-working area with complimentary Wi-Fi. It's a tranquil space with access to all hotel amenities. Plus, floor-to-ceiling windows bathe the room in natural light, and you'll enjoy views of the courtyard while you work. 

At Dutch, you're in for a treat! Reimagined classics and rare spirits await, all served with a local twist. The handwritten menu will guide you on a journey across the globe. Whether you're here for a night out or a happy hour, Dutch has you covered.  Order at the bar or online, and they'll deliver right to your room. Enjoy sharing platters made from local, fresh produce, savouring hot chilli bowls, indulge in butterfly shrimp, and satisfy your sweet tooth with delectable desserts. 

During our stay at Hyatt Centric Cambridge at Edminton, we opted for the King Room, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The room's design perfectly blends modernity with the timeless charm of this historic city. Upon entering, the first thing you notice is the calming colour palette that immediately sets a tranquil atmosphere. The choice of colours creates a soothing ambience, making it the ideal space to relax after a day filled with unforgettable experiences in the heart of historic Cambridge. 

The highlight of the room is undoubtedly the incredibly comfortable UK super king bed. It's spacious and plush, allowing you to stretch out in style. Whether you're sinking into it after a day of exploration or waking up feeling refreshed, you're in for a treat. The room's interior design embraces luxe art deco aesthetics, featuring warming hues that add to the overall cosiness. Rich textures and eclectic accents create a harmonious blend of classic and contemporary styles, immersing you in an atmosphere that's both elegant and inviting. The modern bathroom in the King's Room is a delightful surprise. Upscale accessories and amenities elevate your stay, ensuring you have everything you need for a luxurious and comfortable visit.

A quick heads-up: Hyatt Centric Cambridge is a cash-free haven. They accept credit cards, debit cards, and other contactless forms of payment, making your stay hassle-free. Hyatt Centric Cambridge at Edminton offers a second home in Cambridge, complete with convenient parking (please note that the car park must be booked in advance by contacting reception), complimentary Wi-Fi, access to a fitness centre, and pet-friendly accommodations. 

The distance between central Cambridge and the conveniently located Hyatt Centric Cambridge is just a stone's throw away, making it an ideal base for exploring this historic city. A leisurely stroll from the hotel will lead you to the heart of central Cambridge, where you can immerse yourself in the rich heritage, explore the iconic colleges, and take in the charming atmosphere that defines this unique destination. It's a delightful walking experience, allowing you to savour every moment of your journey. 

However, for those looking to cover more ground and explore Cambridge on two wheels, you'll be pleased to know that Hyatt Centric Cambridge offers bicycle rentals right from the reception. This eco-friendly mode of transportation not only allows you to navigate the city with ease but also adds a sense of adventure to your exploration.

No trip to Cambridge is complete without a punt down the River Cam. We went with Scudamore's Punting and it was an experience to remember. Cambridge's picturesque scenery comes to life as you drift along the serene waters of the River Cam. You'll be surrounded by lush greenery, charming bridges, and the iconic architecture of the city's historic colleges. Punting tours are usually guided, and the punters are well-versed in the history and anecdotes of the city. They share fascinating insights into the landmarks you pass, adding depth to your experience. 

Punting offers a unique perspective of Cambridge's world-famous colleges. You'll glide past gems like King's College, Trinity College, and St John's College, each displaying its unique architecture and history. The vantage point from the punt offers fantastic photo opportunities. Capture stunning shots of the historic buildings, bridges, and the reflection of the architecture in the calm waters. In a nutshell, punting in Cambridge is an enchanting experience that combines history, tranquillity, and breathtaking scenery. Speaking of unforgettable experiences, we couldn't resist indulging in some delectable treats from Bridges Café, a charming family-run establishment with a genuine commitment to serving top-notch, home-cooked cuisine while prioritizing health at its core. Their dedication shines through as they utilize the freshest locally sourced ingredients to craft a delightful array of lunches and treats, all meticulously prepared to order at their Bridge Street location in Cambridge. This delightful café holds a special place in my heart as it's where I initially connected with friends upon my arrival in Cambridge, and to this day, they continue to serve the finest coffee and pastries in town. 

Cambridge, a city steeped in centuries of rich history, boasts a treasure trove of world-famous colleges that are a must-see during your visit. One such gem is the awe-inspiring King's College Chapel, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture that will leave you in awe with its intricate stained glass windows and grandeur. The Fitzwilliam Museum, a cultural haven, awaits with its extensive collection of art and artefacts, providing an enlightening journey through the ages. 

For a peaceful retreat amidst nature, don't forget to explore the Botanic Garden, a lush sanctuary featuring a diverse array of plants and serene landscapes. As you wander through the city's cobblestone streets, you'll be immersed in the tangible echoes of history that permeate every corner, offering a truly enriching experience that encapsulates Cambridge's profound heritage. 

Our midday meal unfolded at Bread and Meat, a charming culinary gem nestled in the heart of central Cambridge. This independent modern British eatery, skillfully curated and operated by the local couple Simon and Michelle, specializes in crafting gourmet sandwiches, delectable poutine, and their signature 'bowls.' What sets them apart is their unwavering commitment to quality, with everything prepared on-site using locally sourced ingredients, 100% British meats, and house-made mayos and sauces that are masterfully crafted from scratch. Dining at Bread and Meat is not just a meal; it's a flavorful journey through the heart of historic Cambridge, and it's evident in every bite. 

Following our delicious meal, we treated ourselves to some exquisite ice cream at Jack's Gelato – a highly recommended destination for heavenly ice creams and sorbets, freshly churned on a daily basis. The experience was nothing short of amazing! 

The next morning, we yearned for a comforting and unhurried start that would evoke the cosiness of home. Our choice led us to the serene rooftop of Hyatt Centric Cambridge, where we relished a steaming cup of coffee and lost ourselves in the pages of a good book. This tranquil interlude set the ideal tone for yet another day of adventure and discovery. 

As we enjoyed our peaceful morning, we couldn't help but notice the solar panels that adorned 80% of the rooftop space. These solar panels serve a dual purpose, not only generating power to sustain the hotel but also contributing excess energy back to the grid. It's a sustainable and forward-thinking initiative that aligns seamlessly with the eco-conscious ethos of Hyatt-Centric Cambridge. 🌞🌍🏨💡

If you're coming from London, you have options! Take a bus, hop on a train, or drive by car. The city is well-connected. The closest airports are London Stansted (STN) and London Luton (LTN). The train journey from London to Cambridge is a popular and efficient choice. You can catch a train from various London stations, including King's Cross, Liverpool Street, and London Bridge. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour, making it one of the quickest ways to reach Cambridge. Trains are frequent, running throughout the day, so you can easily find a suitable time for your trip. You'll enjoy a comfortable and scenic ride through the English countryside, arriving at Cambridge Railway Station, which is conveniently located near the city centre. Travelling by bus is another convenient and budget-friendly option. Several bus companies operate services between London and Cambridge, with departures from various points in London, including Victoria Coach Station, Stratford, and Baker Street.

Sakin sabahımızın tadını çıkarırken, çatının %80'ini süsleyen güneş panellerini fark ettik ve bu güneş panellerinin, oteli sürdürüp, enerji üretmekle kalmayıp, aynı zamanda fazla enerjiyi şebekeye geri kazandırarak sürdürülebilirlik sağladığını öğrendik.

Londra'dan geliyorsanız, otele ulaşım için birçok seçeneğiniz var! Otobüse binin, trene atlayın veya araba ile gelin. En yakın havaalanları Londra Stansted (STN) ve Londra Luton (LTN).
